8TH RUNAWAY OPEN A SUCCESS

Thank you to the 100 golfers who came together on September 2 at Willis Case Golf Course in Denver in support of our mission. We’re still crunching numbers, but have already raised over $6,000 through the event to continue our support of music education programs across the country.

I've had a bad habit of posting results 9 months or so later, but this time... we've got tournament results, prize summaries, sponsor thanks, some photos of the event, and a hidden lyrics puzzle - all below the fold...

We'd like to thank all of the incredible entities that sponsored holes, helped fill gift bags, and/or offered fabulous raffle prizes. From well-known national brands (Sonos, Merrell, & Evolve Golf) and Denver area mainstays (Baker Wine & Spirits, Ester’s Neighborhood Pub, & Mountain Sun Pub), to lot merch mavens (PhanArt, Grateful Fred, PhunkYourFace, Back on the Train, Surrender to the Flow, & Funky Flies) and heavy-hitters of the Phish community (WaterWheel, Nugs.net, & CashOrTrade), to surprise support (Lathrop GPM, the Pryzbylski Family, & DoubleTree Hilton), each played a pivotal role in our 8th Annual event, and we deeply appreciate their support!

Golf winners (netting a special prize bag plus some pro shop credit) include Jon Longcoy (Longest Drive), Todd Masten (Closest to Pin & 1st place individual), Aaron Pettine (2nd place individual), and Ian Partilla (3rd place individual). The 1st place foursome was the team of Patrick Donnely, Todd Matson, Ian Partilla, and Jason Rubio; the runner-up foursome was the team of Craig Bodziner, Zach Dubin, Matthew Hallas, and Jon Longcoy. Additional prizes were won from on-course contests run by Backswing and Dixon Golf - though no one (yet) has taken home the $10,000 prize for our hole-in-one contest.

In addition, 50 prizes were raffled (two in each foursome), ranging from a small sticker to $1,000 in legal services towards a will and trust donated by Lathrop GPM. Those winners included David Mares (a pair of Sonos Era 100s), Matthew Hallas (legal services), Harrison Kirby (a gold membership and merch package from Cash or Trade), and Brian Dennan and Ryan Tutten (a 1-year subscription to nugs.net each).

Dan Jewell won a brand new feature of the tournament, a Phish lyrics puzzle hidden in 16 sponsor signs on the course. For those who want to try their hand, we won’t spoil the fun here; instead, we've posted the images below and started a thread in the Phish.net forum, and will give prizes for the first three with the solution.

Be sure to tag us in any pics you have from the day, or to email us any that you aren’t posting but we can share. We appreciate everyone’s support in creating a wonderful outing, and we can't wait to see you next year for the 9th Annual!
